Powerball Number Generator

Random picks that skip the numbers everyone else plays. Same odds of winning, less chance of sharing the jackpot if you do.

How many lines?

Same odds of winning as any other line. The filters only lower the chance of sharing a jackpot.

The filters

How the picks are filtered

Every number is drawn at random from the full pools: 1 to 69 for the white balls and 1 to 26 for the Powerball. Then any line that looks like a human picked it gets thrown out and redrawn.

Not just birthdays

At least two numbers above 31, so the line isn't built from dates.

No runs

No three numbers in a row, and no evenly spaced lines.

No tidy patterns

No lines where every number shares a last digit or is a multiple of the same number.

Spread out

The five white balls never bunch up inside a span of ten.

FAQ

Powerball generator questions

Is this a random Powerball number generator?

Yes. Every number comes out of the full pools at random. The only difference from a plain random pick is that lines matching patterns people tend to favor get thrown out and redrawn.

How is this different from a Quick Pick?

A Quick Pick is random too, which already beats playing birthdays. This adds one step: it screens out the lines that look hand-picked, like a row of dates or a straight run.

What are the least common Powerball numbers?

If you mean the numbers drawn least often, that list won't help you. Every drawing starts with a full set of balls, so a number that has been cold all year has the same shot tonight as every other ball. What you can control is how many other people are holding your numbers.

How do you avoid splitting the jackpot?

You can't rule it out, but you can stay away from what crowds pick: birthdays, anniversaries, sequences and shapes on the playslip. Lines that skip those are less likely to be shared if they hit. Your odds of hitting don't change at all.

From the poker table

Anyone who has played poker long enough has chopped a pot they deserved to scoop. You played the hand right, the board ran your way, and you still slide half the chips across the table because someone else held the same cards. Your hand didn't lose. It got shared. A Powerball jackpot works the same way. Smart numbers won't make your line more likely to hit, but if it does hit, you don't want to be splitting it with everyone who played their kids' birthdays.

Scratch-offs

Powerball resets every draw. Scratch-offs don't.

Everything above is about the one thing you control on a draw game: who you might end up splitting with. The odds themselves never move. Every Powerball drawing starts with a fresh set of balls, so last week's results tell you nothing about this week's.

Scratch-offs are the opposite. Every game is a fixed print run with a fixed number of prizes, and every top prize that gets claimed is gone from the tickets still sitting at the counter. That's a blackjack shoe being dealt down, and I spent years counting those. The lottery keeps selling a game after its top prizes are gone, and the ticket looks exactly the same.

Savvy Scratch tracks prizes remaining for every scratch-off game in 28 states. The Bad tab, which shows the games that have gone cold, is free. The Good and Neutral tabs are $5 a month or $50 a year, with a 30-day worry-free guarantee.
