Launch odds vs. real odds on $20,000 Power Shot
The odds printed on $20,000 Power Shot were set the day it went to print and they never move. The real odds do, every single day, as prizes get claimed and tickets sell. When the $20,000 prizes get scooped up faster than the tickets sell, the real odds on that top prize get worse than what’s on the front. When tickets sell faster than the big prizes go, they get better. On $20,000 Power Shot the top prize is already gone, so those printed odds are selling you a jackpot that isn’t on the shelf anymore.
$20,000 Power Shot questions
- Does $20,000 Power Shot still have its top prize?
- No. All 2 of the $20,000 top prizes on $20,000 Power Shot (Mississippi game #179) are gone. The ticket still advertises the same odds it launched with, but you would be playing for a jackpot that no longer exists. Skip it.
- What are the real odds on $20,000 Power Shot right now?
- The $20,000 top prize launched at 1 in 810,733, and that is the number printed on the ticket. Those odds were locked in the day the game printed and they never move. The odds that actually matter get recalculated from the prizes and tickets still left today, and that live number is the one members see.
- How much is a $20,000 Power Shot ticket?
- $20,000 Power Shot costs $2 in Mississippi.
- Why doesn't the Mississippi Lottery just tell me this?
- Because the odds printed on the ticket make every game look identical from the day it launches to the day it ends. The lottery has no reason to point out that a game's best prizes are already claimed. We read the remaining-prize data Mississippi publishes every day and do the math they leave out.
